It Takes a Village: How Our Community Partners Make Free Dental Care Possible

Mint for More team providing dental care during a Day of Giving community event

We know how to fix teeth. But finding neighbors who need free dental care, building trust with people who’ve been let down by systems before, navigating the social services world — that’s not our expertise. That’s why Mint for More doesn’t work alone.

We work alongside organizations that are already doing the hard, quiet work of serving our community. And without them, none of this would be possible.

The Partners

Mint for More collaborates with over 20 organizations in Northwest Arkansas. Each group plays a different role, but the common thread is the same: they know the people who need help, and they know how to reach them.

The Samaritan Community Center serves families dealing with poverty, housing instability, and lack of access to healthcare. They actually have their own dental clinic, but the need is so big that they can’t see everyone. So we work together to get patients seen sooner. If someone walks through their doors with a toothache they’ve been living with for months, Samaritan connects them with us and we get them in a chair.

PEARL is a nonprofit committed to creating pathways to recovery from addiction. When you’re fighting to put your life back together, dental problems are one more thing holding you back. We provide the care so that’s one less barrier in the way.

Canopy NWA helps settle refugees in Northwest Arkansas. A lot of these families are starting over with nothing, and dental care isn’t exactly at the top of the list when you’re figuring out housing and jobs and school for your kids. But the need is there, and Canopy connects those families with us.

They bring the relationships and the trust. We bring the dental care. It works because we each stay in our lane and do what we’re good at.

How the Referral Process Works

It’s simple by design. A partner organization identifies someone who needs dental care. They make the referral. We schedule the appointment and provide the treatment at no cost to the patient.

No application form. No income verification hoops. If our partners say someone needs help, we trust them and we get to work.

This model works because it removes the barriers that typically prevent people from getting care. No insurance requirement. No payment plan. No shame. Just: you need help, and we’re here to provide it.

Real Results, Together

Care packages prepared for community members by Mint for More partners

Since 2016, Mint for More has provided more than $3.5 million in donated dental services. That number represents real people — adults who can chew again, kids who aren’t in pain at school, neighbors who can finally smile in front of others.

None of this happens without trust. Trust between our team and our partners. Trust between our partners and the communities they serve. And trust from patients who walk into our doors not knowing what to expect. That trust is built relationship by relationship. It’s the foundation of everything Mint for More does.

If your organization serves neighbors in NWA who lack access to a dental home, we’d love to connect. Or donate to help us keep saying yes when the next referral comes in.
